Mikel Agu has celebrated a deserved recall to the Super Eagles with a goal and a 5-0 spanking of Belenenses by Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal.
Battling defensive midfielder Agu has been rewarded by Eagles coach Gernot Rohr for his sparkling displays for Guimaraes.
He fired home from 20 yards to double his club’s lead after just five minutes of action.
Agu, 26, has made six appearances for the club on loan from FC Porto.
Guimaraes are now fourth on the league table with 15 points from nine matches.
Agu did not make the final cut to last year’s World Cup and has since then not been involved with the national team.
