Yira Sor, who was the match winner for Genk to win for the second straight game, said his team are driven to reach the championship playoffs in Belgium.
Saturday’s win at Charleroi has moved Genk to fifth place and well within the six-team championship playoffs with four rounds of matches to the end of the regular season.
“The goal is to reach the top six. These two victories in a row are good and we look at it match by match,” said Yira Sor, who has now fired six goals in the league this season.
“We played well, were dominant and had the best chances. It was a deserved win for us. That there was a lot of will power? We played well offensively, defensively too. It was a little more difficult in the first half.”
The 23-year-old ex-Flying Eagles star also spoke on his new-found goal-scoring form.
“I’m a wing attacker, but I scored as a striker (laughs). The coach asked me to support Tolu (Arokodare). That worked out well,” he reasoned.
