SCORENigeria has gathered that the appointment of a new coach for the Golden Eaglets has been put on hold due to “massive drama” caused by the various interests.
A source told only SCORENigeria: “The interest in the new coach for the Golden Eaglets is crazy, it’s a massive drama, and that’s why a decision has yet to be reached on this appointment.”
Former Sporting Lagos coach Shola Adegun has been among the front runners, but it has now been gathered that “interest from high places” has also thrown up a young video analyst, Eboboritse Uwejamomere, who has been working with the Super Eagles.
‘Ebobo’ is currently in charge of the Sporting Lagos Academy.
The coach of Beyond Limits, Olumide Ajibolade, is also in serious contention for the top coaching position, SCORENigeria further gathered.
There has even been a proposal of a consortium of young coaches to pilot the new Golden Eaglets.
The NFF leadership has yet to decide on the new coach on account of the various interests and leading up to the NFF Elections in September.
