Media reports have suggested that scouts from Premier League clubs Manchester City, Leicester City and Brighton were in the stands to watch exciting youngster Akinkunmi Amoo at the weekend.
AIK defeated Hammarby 2-0 in a derby Sunday and according to Sportbladet, the Premier League clubs’ targets were Amoo and Kenyan leftback Erick Otieno.
Otieno marked Amoo in the game and said afterwards that he felt he did what was expected of him.
“It was a good match. When you meet a player as good as Amoo, you must not give him space. You have to keep him covered at all times,” Otieno tells Sportbladet.
“I kept an eye on him. He had no room at all to move around.
“It really is a wonderful feeling when you feel that you have succeeded with your game. The most important thing for a defender is to be able to defend. That must be the first priority.”
Amoo disagreed, saying he gave him a tough game.
The youngster has been linked with several top clubs across Europe since a flying start to the new season in Sweden.
