Terem Moffi was today the Man of the Match as he scored his first Ligue 1 hat-trick to destroy Bordeaux and ease FC Lorient relegation worries.
He has now netted 14 goals in the league to match the goals record for a Nigerian player in Ligue 1 set by Victor Ikpeba in the 1997/98 season.
Ikpeba will go on to be crowned CAF African Footballer of the Year on the strength of those goals.
He now has 15 goals in all competitions in his first season in France.
The 21-year-old striker has now scored scored six goals in four matches this month.
Moffi is only behind Kylian Mbappe in the goals per minute ratio as he scores every 120 minutes.
Mbappe gets a goal every 88 minutes.
Thanks to today’s 4-1 win over Bordeaux Lorient are now four clear of the relegation zone with 35 points from 34 matches.
They are just a point behind Bordeaux and also a spot below them.
