Emmanuel Dennis is the new star of Premier League club Watford after he was named Man of the Match on a goal-scoring debut against Aston Villa and also lavished praise.
New signing Dennis from Belgian champions Club Brugge opened scoring and also provided an assist for Watford to beat Aston Villa 3-2 on the opening day of the Premier League season Saturday.
Dennis himself said he will “remember this (debut) for all of my life”.
Who Scored named him Man of the Match with a rating of 8.78 ahead of the equally impressive Ismaila Sarr, who got 8.46.
Squawka Football simply remarked: “An impressive debut for Watford.”
BBC though rated Sarr slightly ahead of Dennis to make him the second best player on the pitch.
Helen Ward, journalist and player with Watford Women, also praised for the ex-player of Club Brugge.
“A great achievement. I was very impressed with Dennis, Kucka and Sarr,” she wrote.
Well, what an unexpectedly exciting performance from the boys! (Last minute jitters aside) impressed with Dennis, Kucka and Sarr. Etebo was bright. Kaba and WTE (Ekong) dealt with their threat excellently as well. A good start all in all.”
EPLStatman revealed the individual statistics of the forward, who had to be replaced after an hour due to injury.
