Josh Maja has got off to a flying start back in England after his brace for Fulham at Everton, but a report has claimed the striker struggled in France because he could not cope with the physical demands of Ligue 1.
Maja fired two striker’s goals Sunday to boost Fulham survival chances.
But he did not enjoy many highlights at Ligue 1 club Bordeaux.
A report has suggested that this was because he was “bullied” by his markers and he failed to go by team atctics.
“Frustration at Bordeaux with Josh Maja was a lack of ability to adhere to tactical systems & that he was too easily bullied by a physical central defender,” reported Get French Football.
“It meant that he failed to make the starting XI.
“Interesting case study to watch as he transitions back to the Premier League.”
Maja, 22, scored two goals in 17 appearances this season in France before his loan switch to Fulham last month.
