Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie was “magnificent” and she stood between South Africa and qualification to the Paris 2024 Olympics, according to coach Desiree Ellis.
Super Falcons edged past Banyana Banyana of South Africa 1-0 on aggregate to qualify for the 2024 Olympics after they held them to a scoreless draw in Pretoria Tuesday night.
“The goalkeeper (Chiamaka Nnadozie) was magnificent and she stood between us and qualification to the Olympics,” Ellis lamented.
“We threw the kitchen sink at them in the second half, but they defended resolutely.
“We gave it our best shot, gave everything and we are very disappointed we didn’t qualify.
“Still I am proud of this team.”
Nnadozie, 23, pulled off at least five big saves in Pretoria after she made two saves in the first leg in Abuja last week.
This super falcons goal keeper, Nnadozie is superb.
I want to see her keep the goal in any of the super eagle’s memorial match. I bet, she will shine.
If not for d power behind the male shots, her reflexes look better than most of our male goal keepers.
