The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) will later this month hear an appeal by Libya over the decision of CAF to award a botched 2025 AFCON qualifier to the Super Eagles and also fine them.
CAF awarded the Super Eagles three points and three matches as well as fined Libya $50,000 after they breached rules and regulations concerning the reception of visiting teams after Nigeria were held hostage for over 20 hours prior to an AFCON qualifier last month.
The decision consolidated the Super Eagles leadership of Group D.
They now have 11 points ahead of today’s final qualifier at home to Rwanda.
Libya remain bottom of the standings with four points.
They welcome second-placed Benin to Tripoli today in a final group game.
