Leicester City manager has given the latest update on the injury of Kelechi Iheanacho, who is listed on the Super Eagles final squad for the AFCON.
Enzo Maresca said Iheanacho has made progress in his recovery, but he is not yet fully fit.
“The only thing I can say is that Kel (Iheanacho) is still injured,” the Italian said.
“It’s getting better, but it’s still not 100% otherwise he would be in the squad for tomorrow (vs Millwall) and he’s not in the squad.”
NFF president Ibrahim Gusau has said the striker will join up with the rest of the Super Eagles squad by Tuesday, when they will return to Nigeria from a training camp in Dubai.
The Eagles will be hosted to a dinner in Lagos Tuesday before they fly out to Cote d’Ivoire the following day to the 2023 AFCON.
