Rivers United boosted their championship credentials today after they moved 10 points clear at the top of the NPFL table on the back of a 2-0 home win over closest rivals Plateau United.
The Port Harcourt outfit now have 67 points from 31 matches, 10 points ahead of Plateau United.
There are now seven rounds of matches to the end of the season.

Chijoke Akuneto grabbed a brace to hand Rivers United an all-important victory.
The forward has now netted 14 goals to match the tally of teammate and the leagueβs leading scorer Rafiu Kayode.
Gombe United striker Abdulazeez Yusuf is also on 14 goals as his team beat Heartland 3-2 today.
Enugu Rangers beat Wikki Tourists 2-1 at home, but they remain a distant third with 51 points.
At the other end of the standings, Dakkada are now bottom of the table on 30 points, while MFM improved their survival hopes courtesy of a goalless draw at champions Akwa United.
Katsina United eased their relegation worries with a 2-0 win over Niger Tornadoes and Lobi Stars stopped visiting Kwara United 3-1 to give themselves a fighting chance to beat the dreaded drop.
