KV Kortrijk coach Yves Vanderhaeghe has stoutly defended the decision of the Belgian club to sell Terem Moffi and not immediately spend the huge transfer fee they received for the star striker.
Moffi became the record outgoing transfer for Kortrijk after French Ligue 1 club FC Lorient splashed eight million Euros for him this summer.
The Belgian club have maintained they will not be in a hurry to use this little fortune to buy new players to fortify the first team.
“I’m not stupid either, when you see what times we live in. Kortrijk have few sponsors and less income. So it is realistic what the club did,”,Vanderhaeghe told Sport / Voetbalmagazine.
But at least the club bought a new striker, the Gambian Mohamed Badamosi from Moroccan side FUS Rabat for 300,000 Euros.
Moffi was an unknown when he joined them in January before he set Belgium on fire with his goals and they hope that the 21-year-old Badamosi will do same.
