Sports director Peter Verbeke has revealed that coach Vincent Kompany made sure Paul Mukairu joined Anderlecht.
Mukairu has joined the Belgian giants on loan from Turkish club Antalyaspor with option for Anderlecht to make the deal permanent by the end of the season.
Verbeke told Het Laatste Nieuws Kompany was “wildly enthusiastic” about Mukairu, and therefore insisted on his arrival.
The Nigerian forward is widely seen as a direct replacement for Jeremy Doku, who moved to Ligue 1 club Rennes on a record transfer of 27 million Euros.
The 20-year-old winger or striker is due soon in Belgium after he would have completed administrative processes.
