Barely 24 hours after he was named CAF Player of the Year in Marrakesh, Morocco, Osimhen doubled Napoli lead against Sporting Braga at home.
Osimhen got his name on the scoreboard on 33 minutes, when he improvised from a pass by Brazilian defender Nathan to get the ball over the goal line.
The striker, who netted 31 goals in all competitions last season, has now scored a total of seven goals this term following his six goals in Serie A.
Napoli advanced to the Champions League Round of 16 after they finished behind Real Madrid with 10 points from six games.
Last season, the Serie A champions achieved their best-ever record in the Champions League when they reached the quarterfinal.
