Kalu, Maja feature in Bordeaux pre-season friendly win

Samuel Kalu and Josh Maja were both in action for Bordeaux when they won their first pre-season friendly.

Bordeaux pipped National League 2 side Bergerec 1-0 thanks to a penalty goal.

The Ligue 1 club experimented with a formation parading three defenders.

Kalu started the game, while Maja, back from a loan spell at Fulham in the Premier League, played in the second half.

Bordeaux will hope for a much better campaign in the new Ligue 1 season after they barely escaped relegation last season.
