Former Super Eagles captain Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha has said Nigeria do not deserve to feature at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar should they fail to beat Ghana at home in Abuja Tuesday.
Okocha described tonight’s goalless draw in Kumasi as a huge result for the Eagles, but that they will now have to win in Abuja to book their flight to Qatar in November.
“The draw was a huge result for Nigeria, I fancy our chances of now winning at home to qualify for the World Cup,” he said.
“We now know what we have to do to be at the World Cup – win in Abuja.
“If we don’t win in front of our fans Tuesday, then we don’t deserve to be at the World Cup.”
Should there still be no goals when both teams clash again in the new week, they will play extra-time before a penalty shootout.
Kickoff at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja Tuesday will be 6pm.
The super Eagles coach, Eguavoen lack technical depths for a draw in Ghana.
