Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi will tomorrow night win his 60th Super Eagles cap against Algeria in Oran.
The 26-year-old Iwobi made his Eagles debut on October 8, 2015, in a 2-1 win over hosts Zambia in a World Cup qualifier.
He marked his debut with an assist for a goal by Kelechi Iheanacho.
It was coach Sunday Oliseh who gave him his Eagles start.
Iwobi has so far scored 11 goals for Nigeria after he featured for England at U16, U17 and U18 levels.
One of the most important goals he has scored was against Zambia in Uyo, which qualified Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr picked Iwobi has one of the three best players he worked with when he was in Nigeria.
Interestingly, only this season Premier League club Everton celebrated the player’s 100th appearance for them.
Iwobi’s uncle, ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha won 75 caps and scored 15 goals for the Eagles.
