Italy have stunned five-time champions Brazil to go top of the U20 World Cup Group D, which also has the Flying Eagles and the Dominican Republic.
Italy edged past Brazil 3-2 in the second Group D match after Nigeria pipped debutants Dominican Republic 2-1 in the opening group game.
Italy raced to 3-0 after just 35 minutes of action before tried to stage a comeback with two late goals.
Both Italy and the Flying Eagles have three points each, but the Italians have scored more goals to shoot to the top of the standings.
Both teams will come face-to-face Wednesday night in Mendoza, while Brazil seek redemption against the Dominican Republic.
Kick-off time for the Flying Eagles Wednesday is 7pm in Nigeria.
