The surgeon who operated on Victor Osimhen has said it can only be a miracle should the Napoli striker feature at next month’s AFCON in Cameroon.
This could well be a massive body blow to the chances of the Super Eagles at the AFCON.
Osimhen is determined to play in Cameroon and Nigeria have listed him for the tournament.
However, professor Gianpaolo Tartaro has insisted the Napoli star needs a lot more time to heal after he underwent surgery for facial fractures recently.
“For the formation of the callus bone, according to world protocols, it takes from 60 to 90 days. Unless a biological miracle,” the surgeon told Corriere dello Sport.
“If he does not do the CT scan, we will not be able to change the prognosis.
“Reduced fractures must consolidate.
“I repeat: for the formation of the callus, you have to wait two or three months unless a Christmas biological miracle, but biology is not a (football) fan.”
