Rivers United winger Kayode Ishaq has said he is delighted to sign for top Slovenian club Maribor ahead of several other offers.
Ishaq has signed a three-year contract with Maribor.
“I am looking forward to a new challenge in my career,” he told his new club.
“I decided on Maribor because I believe that the best Slovenian club are most suitable for the next step of my development.”
The exciting winger scored 14 goals as Rivers United were crowned NPFL champions this past season.
He was recently capped by the Super Eagles during a recent playing tour in the USA.
“He is a player for now and for the future,” remarked Maribor sports director Marko Suler.
“He comes highly recommended and brings a new dimension in our attack.”
