Portugal-based defender Bruno Onyemaechi has been cleared by coach Jose Peseiro for todays’ 2026 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho in Uyo.
The Boavista left fullback trained apart from the squad in the Eagles first training in Uyo Tuesday evening but he will be involved in full training yesterday.
Injury forced him out of his team’s Portuguese league game at the weekend.
Peseiro said the player was “uncomfortable” and so his exit from the game, but he has since rejoined the full squad to train.
The twenty two other call-ups including new boys Nathan Tella of Bayer Leverkusen and Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie trained under coach Jose Peseiro.
Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, who will most likely man the posts for the qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, was outstanding in training.
The Super Eagles take on Lesotho today by 5pm at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo before a second qualifier against Zimbabwe in Rwanda Sunday.
