Terem Moffi was not listed for FC Lorient Round of 16 Coupe de France win over Bastia this weekend because he is ill and “disturbed” by speculations regarding his transfer in this window, according to his coach.
“There is a reality, there is this little virus, and it is a somewhat disturbing period for him,” admitted Régis Le Bris.
“But I think he will be back for Rennes (20th day of L1, January 27) and that he will resume training at the start of the week.”
OGC Nice are now believed to have jumped ahead of the chasing pack for the 23-year-old striker, who still has a year and half left on his contract with Lorient.
Nice have improved their bid to 20 Million Euros after two lower bids of 15 Million and 18 Million Euros were rejected by his club, who are hedging for a lot more cash.
Several Premier League clubs including Southampton, Everton and West Ham as well as La Liga clubs Villarreal and Real Sociedad have indicated interest in the Super Eagles striker.
