George Ilenikhena may have opened his goals’ account in Saudi Arabia in style, but his future may well be elsewhere.
The young striker, who has opted to play for the Super Eagles after representing France at age-grade levels, grabbed a brace in a 3-0 win over Al Najma in a King’s Cup tie.
He opened scoring in the 16th minute, before he doubled his team’s lead on 39 minutes.
The centre-forward struggled when he first joined the top Saudi club earlier this year from AS Monaco.
The 20-year-old forward George Ilenikhena hopes to leave Al-Ittihad and return to Europe, and several clubs have shown interest.
Bologna submitted a loan offer with a €22 million option to buy, which was immediately rejected.
Trabzonspor also proposed a loan deal that included a €15 million purchase option, which the Saudi club also refused.
Al Ittihad are open to a sale and are seeking approximately €20 million.
Sevilla FC have also presented an oral offer of €10 million with an additional €3 million in bonuses and a significant sell-on percentage.
Ilenikhena joined Al Ittihad in February 2026 for a fee reported to be €30 million plus €3 million in bonuses, and his contract runs until 2029.
