The former Golden Eaglets forward said he wants to do more for Midtjylland.
“I always set out to score goals, but to score four is absolutely fantastic,” Iheanacho said after his debut.
“I am excited and want to thank all the coaches and the rest of the staff for giving me the chance to play.”
“This makes me even more hungry. It’s not the end, but just the beginning of my career. Now the hard work continues and I have to keep improving so that I can have more of these kinds of experiences.”
He also spoke about his super strike to make it 9-0.
“Actually, it’s something I’ve been working on in training. When I get the opportunity, I always try to put the ball into the far corner in these kinds of situations,” he revealed.
The young Iheanacho, who was sourced from Maracana Zuba in Abuja, admitted he was nervous leading up to his debut.
“For the last training session before the game, the line-up was called out and I was among the starting 11. It was a fantastic feeling, and I have been lying all night thinking about what was going to happen. I was aware that this was the day when I had to prove myself,” he said.
However, he was happy with the warm welcome he received in the first team..
“Everyone has welcomed me so well, and it actually feels like a kind of family here in the team. It makes me happy and I appreciate the warm welcome,” he said.
Wednesday was a special day for the Midtjylland Academy because as many as six of their U19s debuted.
