Kelechi Iheanacho lost a penalty as Leicester City lost 3-1 to Burton Albion on penalties in an annual competition ahead of the new season in England.
Iheanacho skied high his spot kick during the penalty shoot-out.
Scores at full time were 0-0 before Burton, who play in the English League 1, edged it on penalties to win the competition they stage every year against a team from the Midlands.
Last season, Iheanacho produced his most productive season in England when he netted 19 goals in all competitions.
The 24-year-old striker was rewarded with a new, improved three-year contract by Leicester City.
