Kelechi Iheanacho has earned top praise from former England star Michael Owen after he scored his third Premier League goal in December.
Iheanacho spearheaded the Leicester City attack in the absence of Jamie Vardy, whose wife gave birth today, and he justified his selection by opening scoring in the 40th minute against home team West Ham with a smart headed goal from the near post.
“Iheanacho is hungry to score goals. He was a thorn in the flesh of West Ham,” Owen remarked.
“He’s a good goal scorer, he sniffs out chances.
“He scored a great goal after a great reaction.”
The Nigeria star also won his team a penalty when he was fouled inside the box by the West Ham goalkeeper.
However, Leicester City failed to put away the spot kick.
Courtesy of tonight’s 2-1 win in London, ‘The Foxes’ stay second on the Premier League table with 42 points from 20 games.
