Kelechi Iheanacho has been praised by Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers after he came off the bench to deliver the winning goal for the Scottish champions.
Iheanacho has joined Celtic to get his career going again after a difficult time in Spain with Sevilla.
“I’m delighted for Kels (Iheanacho) because he’s a player who really feeds off confidence and love of coaches and supporters, ant that goal will be very important for him,” remarked Rodgers, who previously worked with the Super Eagles forward at Leicester City.
“The last penalty I remember him scoring for me was at the Wembley when we beat Manchester City in the Community Shield final and he showed great composure to score that day and he scored again today (Sunday), so I’m really pleased for him.”
Iheanacho himself celebrated his match winner.
“It’s the last kick of the game and I got to take it, so I’m really happy,” he said.
“Hopefully, there are many more to come.”
