IFK Goteborg have said they believe new signing Suleiman Abdullahi will take the Swedish top league by storm.
Abdullahi, 25, signed a contract till 2025 as a free agent after his contract at Bundesliga club Union Berlin.
The Kaduna-born striker will be expected to make his official debut for Goteborg from July 15, when the second round of the league commences.
Goteborg coach Mikael Stahre said he expects a lot from the experienced striker.
“We are recruiting a player with great potential who has also shown before that he can deliver in Scandinavian football,” he said.
“We believe that Suleiman can shine with us and reach the same high level even in an all-Swedish context.
“What stands out most to me is his physique, speed and he’s a big threat in front of goal.”
Chief scout Stig Torbjornsen added: “Suleiman is a player who I personally have followed for a long time, ever since he came to Viking (in Norway in 2016). You can really say that he is well scouted.
“In addition to his football qualities, Suleiman is a calm, stable family man. We see that he will fit in very well with us, on the pitch and in the group.”
