Former Flying Eagles striker Aliyu Ibrahim ‘Bravo’ has denied the great Lionel Messi his first major trophy in the USA after his MLS club Houston Dynamo stopped Inter Miami 2-1 in the final.
The victory earned Houston Dynamo $300,000 as prize money.
They are also the first team to win US Open Cup as away team since Sporting Kansas City did same in 2015.
Aliyu played for 84 minutes, while Messi was not listed for the game.
