Victor Osimhen has revealed that he had “a good feeling” Napoli will achieve great things last season despite the exit of the team’s leaders like Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Last season, Napoli were runaway winners of the Italian Serie A, their first crown in 33 years.
“I told my teammate (Frank Anguissa) we will do something (last season),” he revealed in an interview on Wazobia FM Lagos.
“Yes, some amazing leaders left the team, but five new players joined the squad and we started well.
“We enjoyed a big solidarity, we’re a family, we look out for each other, on and off the pitch.
“The coach was No 1 in our success, he gave so much to the team, while the fans were very supportive, they deserved the Scudetto, they are beautiful.
“Winning the Scudetto was huge for me, I am part of the Napoli history.”
Osimhen himself made history as the first African to be crowned Goal King of Serie A courtesy of the 26 goals he scored.
