KRC Genk four million Euros signing Cyriel Dessers may struggle to justify his price tag because compatriot Paul Onuachu is ahead of him as top striker, according to an expert.
At the weekend, Onuachu made a huge claim for the top striker’s shirt with two goals in a vital win for troubled Genk, while Dessers was conspicuously missing.
“I fear a bit that it will be difficult for record signing Cyriel Dessers. I think Genk will have to play with this team and the main striker for the time being is Onuachu “, Arnar Vidarsson said on Extra Time
Onuachu has now scored four goals after he finished as the team’s top scorer last season with nine goals in the league.
Dessers has two goals, but he is the one who has been called up by the Super Eagles, while Onuachu was overlooked.
Both strikers have played together in two matches, but on current form Onuachu has been considered ahead of Dessers when Genk have had to play with one top striker.
The new Genk coach will give a clearer clarification in this battle of strikers.
