Emmanuel Dennis has boasted he can be counted on when the stakes are highest as Belgian champions Club Brugge face a tricky UEFA Champions League trip to Russian league leaders Zenit Saint Petersburg tonight.
“I always score against the big teams,” Dennis told Het Nieuwsblad
Last season, the Nigeria star was on target twice in a Champions League tie at Real Madrid and then followed up with a super strike against Manchester United in the Europa League.
The winger, who provided an assist for champions Club Brugge in a 1-1 draw at Standard Liege over the weekend, will be expected to start for a team depleted by three Coronavirus positive cases.
It will be another chance for Dennis to get on the big shop window that is the Champions League after a big-money transfer from Club Brugge did not happen in the summer transfer window as widely expected.
