SCORENigeria rates the individual performances of the Super Eagles in their 2-1 win over South Africa tonight.
Daniel Akpeyi 5
He was practically on holidays in the game even though South Africa enjoyed more of the ball possession throughout this game.
Chidozie Awaziem 7
He marshalled the right back position well and was dangerous when he moved forward. A super showing by the defender.
Williams Ekong 7
He was commanding in the heart of the back four and again formed a good understanding with Omeruo.
Jamilu Collins 7
He did well defending and going forward and that way kept dangerman Percy tau quiet for most of this contest. He was outstanding.
Kenneth Omeruo 7
He has continued to build a great partnership with Ekong as he posted another commanding performance in the heart of the back four.
Oghenekaro Etebo 6
He did well but the South African were a handful. He was denied a goal when his great free kick crashed against the crossbar in the second half.
Alex Iwobi 7
He did well to somehow stand up to the South Africans in midfield. He assisted for the first goal. He can still do better.
Wilfred Ndidi 6
He fought hard in midfield and often showed his great marking skills, but generally it was a tough day in the office against the sleek-playing Bafana Bafana in midfield.
Samuel Chukwueze 8 Man of the Match
His selection to start was justified. He was torn in the flesh of the South African defence line and scored the opening goal thanks to his persistence.
Odion Ighalo 5
He couldn’t trouble the goalkeeper as he was policed for most of the game and he did not enjoy much service from midfield.
Ahmed Musa 6
He did well on the flanks with his speed, but some of his final balls were not great.
Moses Simon 5
He played just 10 minutes, but provided the assist for the winning goal.
Leon Balogun No Ratings as he was a stoppage time sub.
