SCORENIGERIA rates the individual performances of the Super Eagles against Algeria.
Daniel Akpeyi 5
Made a one-on-one save after Kenneth Omeruo fumbled. The winning goal was scored through the side he covered from the free kick.
Chidozie Awaziem 7
He made life difficult for Tunisia’s left winger with his strong tackles. He did well as usual.
Jamilu Collins 8
He was Nigeria’s best player on the pitch as he gave Riyad Mahrez tough time. His recovery was great and made a last-ditch clearance to prevent Algeria from scoring a goal after Omeruo fumbled.
William Ekong 5
Scored an own goal that gave Algeria the lead. He did well defending and even blocked some goal-bound efforts.
Kenneth Omeruo 5
He almost gifted the Algerians a goal before the half hour mark. He did well to frustrate Mahrez at some point, but his composure was suspect.
Wilfred Ndidi 6
He did well marking in the midfield, but not timely at times. He committed the foul that Algeria scored the winner from.
Oghenekaro Etebo 6
Formed good partnership with Ndidi, good at his marking and tried to initiate attacks. One of his moves resulted in the penalty which was converted by Ighalo.
Alex Iwobi 7
He worked very hard as usual to be the creative midfielder for the team.
Ahmed Musa 4
Tried to run down the flanks several times, it but didn’t work well.
Samuel Chukwueze 5
Not as effective as he was vs Cameroon. Algerians frustrated most of his moves.
Odion Ighalo 5
Algerian central defenders did a good job on keeping him quiet. One defender was always on him. And not clear cut chance for him, but scored from the penalty spot.
Henry Onyekuru 3
Introduced in the 78th minute for Chukwueze. He couldn’t create the needed chances for Eagles as he wasted the only chance he got inside the box.
Daniel Akpeyi – Jamilu Collins, Chidozie Awaziem, William Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo – Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo – Alex Iwobi, Ahmed Musa, Samuel Chukwueze (Henry Onyekuru 77) – Odion Ighalo
