The Super Eagles dominated Algeria from start to finish to qualify for the semifinal of the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

6.5 Stanley Nwabali
He did not have to make a big save in this game as Algeria were kept at bay by a very organised Super Eagles defence. He got a needless booking for time wasting.
8 Bright Osayi-Samuel
He was most certainly a contender for the Man of the Match prize tonight after the massive defensive shift he put up to deny Algeria a sniff at the Super Eagles. One of his best outings for Nigeria.
7.5 Bruno Onyemaechi
The leftback delivered the assist for Osimhen to open scoring for Nigeria almost at the restart of this quarterfinal. Both he and Osayi-Samuel have grown in confidence and performance as the competition has reached its business end.
7 Calvin Bassey
Another solid display by the Fulham defender particularly when it is known that he was on a yellow card going into this tie and another booking would have ruled him out of the semifinal. Again played with so much confidence and class.
7 Semi Ajayi
Effective again and his partnership with Bassey in the heart of the back four has continued to wax strong. They did not allow Algeria a shot on target tonight.

7 Wilfred Ndidi
Another whole-hearted display by the team captain. He was booked for time wasting in the second half and later appeared to limp off the pitch. Hopefully, he will be available for Wednesday’s semifinal vs hosts Morocco in Rabat.
7 Frank Onyeka
Part of the Super Eagles midfield trio who again worked his socks off to ensure they won the battle of the midfield against the North Africans.
Quality in the touch, class in the finish. That’s Akor Adams. 🇳🇬🫶#TotalEnergiesAFCON2025 | #WeCelebrateDifferent | #WePlayDifferent pic.twitter.com/4Bvnyyk8dF

7.5 Alex Iwobi
He was brilliant stringing passes across the lines and channels as the Super Eagles dominated from start to finish to beat Algeria for the first time in almost 10 years.
7 Ademola Lookman
He was decent on the day, but did not make the same impact he enjoyed in the wins over Tanzania, and Mozambique. However, he posed a real danger any time Nigeria surged forward.
8.5 Victor Osimhen Man of Match
He scored a goal and provided an assist to be the most outstanding player on the park. He responded very well after the drama against Mozambique to underline his strong character.

7 Jerome Akor
He got his second goal of the AFCON, but he could as well have helped himself to at least a hat-trick. He missed the biggest chance of the first half and then saw his free header from inside the 18-yard box come off the post.
6.5 Raphael Onyedika
Tried to steady the ship when he came on for Ndidi. He is now the first option for the captain in defensive midfield.
6.5 Moses Simon
He won his 92nd cap for Nigeria on the night as his direct play on the left flank kept Algeria back.
6 Chidozie Awaziem, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru
Both did just enough when they were brought on late on.
Super Eagles (4-3-3) vs Algeria – Nwabali – Onyemaechi, Osayi-Samuel (Ogbu 90), Bassey, Ajayi – Ndidi (Captain) (Onyedika 68), Onyeka (Moses Simon 68), Iwobi – Ademola Lookman (Dele-Bashiru 86), Osimhen, Akor (Awaziem 86)
