SCORENigeria has reliably gathered that Manu Garba reclaimed his former post as Golden Eaglets coach after his track record was considered ahead of that of his former assistant, Nduka Ugbade, as well as ex-Flamingoes coach, Bala Nkiyu.
His record included a wealth of experience spanning almost 20 years working at this level of the game with results.
“Manu’s CV was what got him back his job, it was considered the best ahead of the other two coaches,” an official told SCORENigeria
“There was no promoter behind him, he got it on merit.
“He has therefore been charged to be diligent in his new assignment.
“He ought to know that a lot has changed in football and in the world as a whole since he won the U17 World Cup in Dubai in 2013.”
Curiously, Manu’s application file was “missing” before it eventually found its way to the table for final consideration.
