Chrisantus Uche was all set to join Wolves after Getafe had agreed a deal worth 20 million euros only for him to end up on a season-long loan at another Premier League club, Crystal Palace.
AS has now reported that top agent Jorge Mendes brought Wolves as a serious candidate with an offer of 16 million euros fixed and 4 million euros in variables.
The deal was perfect for Getafe, but the player’s representative was not satisfied with the salary and commission, leading to complications.
The transfer was halted when the agent stopped the operation just before Uche was to travel for signing.
