Lillestrom high-flying Jerome Akor has suffered a setback after he injured his shoulder in Norwegian league action.
Akor had to be stretchered off in the 35th minute, when he fell awkwardly on his shoulder after an aerial duel with a Sarpong defender.
The striker may now need surgery for this injury.
Lillestrom coach Geir Bakke said that it is probably an injury to the collarbone or a ligament that has come off the shoulder.
“He is sad. There are many exciting things ahead for him and he has a great desire to show himself, both in the Norwegian Elite Series and in Europe,” said fellow Lillestrom player Magnus Knudsen.
“We hope he recovers quickly.”
Before this incident, the former Flying Eagles striker has netted six goals and Lillestrom, who are better known for battling relegation season after season, are challenging for top spot in Norway.
Lillestrom are three points behind leaders Molde.
