The new coach of Heartland Fidelis Ilechukwu has told SCORENigeria his new post is a fresh challenge after he was presented to the public by the governor of Imo state Emeka Ihedioha.
‘The Working One’ Ilechukwu also admitted it was difficult to end his 13-year romance with the MFM FC.
“This is a new environment, a new challenge,” declared the Nigeria U23 assistant coach.
“I just want to give my best to my new club.
“ It was hard to say goodbye to MFM but it is what it is. They gave me a platform to flourish in my career and it is a place I will never forget, but it is time to move on.
“Like I said, Heartland is a new challenge and I hope and pray fortune smiles on me in my new job.”
Heartland barely escaped relegation from the NPFL last season.
A new general manager has been employed and have retained 21 of the 37 players registered last season.
