Super Falcons will fancy their chances to getting past European champions England to reach the quarterfinal of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup if they are to bank on superior head-to-head record against the Three Lionesses.
The Super Falcons have won two of three meetings with England at this level.
Nigeria pipped England 1-0 on July 23, 2002, before they again won by a more comfortable 3-0 on April 22, 2004.
The Falcons only loss to England was at the 1995 World Cup in Sweden, where they fell 3-2.
England won Group D of the on-going World Cup with a perfect nine points, while Nigeria were runners-up in ‘Group of Death’ Group B with five points.
Both teams will square up for a place in the last-eight Monday.
Kick-off time in Nigeria is 8.30am.
