Goals by Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen have put the Super Eagles ahead in the first period of this 2025 AFCON Round of 16 between the Super Eagles and Mambas of Mozambique with Alex Iwobi pulling the strings from midfield.
Nigeria stepped up the pressure from the first whistle with Osimhen’s effort from the near post after just two minutes chalked off for offside.
Iwobi hopeful shot from outside the goal area in the sixth minute had to be turned away for a corner by the Mozambique goalkeeper.
Nigeria opened scoring in the 20th minute, when Jerome Akor pulled back from the left flank for Ademola Lookman to fire his third goal of the tournament.
Five minutes later, the Atalanta forward turned provider when he set up Osimhen to score his second goal of the competition.
However, the dominant Nigerian team must watch it discipline wise after the break as captain Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka have been booked on the night.
