It’s halftime in Bissau inside the 24 September Stadium and the home team lead the Super Eagles 1-0.
The Super Eagles have enjoyed more of the possession (57%), but it is Guinea Bissau with the more decisive strike.
Turkey-based stars delivered the goal for Guinea Bissau Wild Dogs – Franculino Dju of Trabzonspor fires home past goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali with a left-footed shot after he was assisted by Renato Nhaga of Galatasaray.
Ademola Lookman had two chances in quick succession in the 12th and 14th minutes, while in the closing moments of the first half the home team were first denied by Nwabali, before goal scorer Dju’s attempt in the 44th minute was blazed well over the crossbar.
The Super Eagles will need to step up their game after the break if they were to salvage a result in this crucial 2027 AFCON qualifier.
