There are no goals in this Jollof Derby between home team Ghana and the CHAN Eagles of Nigeria after the first 45 minutes.
As expected, Ghana took the game to the visitors from the first whistle and were almost rewarded but a free header inside the box was saved by the Nigerian goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena.
The Black Galaxies pushed forward, but they met a resolute Nigerian defence with captain Nduka Junior and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi solid.
The final ball in the final third failed Ghana again and again.
Clear-cut chances were few and far apart for both teams in a very physical combat in which both teams are adopting the 4-3-3 formation.
Left-footed winger Abubakar Adamu operating from the right has been the main source of concern for the Ghanaian defence.
The home team were almost caught out in the closing minutes of the first half when Nigeria launched a quick counter attack that was only punctuated by a deliberate handball on the edge of the box by a defender.
