The CHAN Eagles are literally flying high against arch-rivals Ghana as they lead 3-0 by the break of this 2024 CHAN playoff second leg.
The home team took the game to the Black Galaxies from the blast of the whistle.
They deservedly took the lead on 19 minutes when defender Sodiq Ismail raced clear of the defence before he slotted home past the goalkeeper.
The home-based Eagles doubled their advantage three minutes later through captain Nduka Junior when he crashed home into the roof of the net off a loose ball.
Almost immediately Nigeria made it 3-0 when Isaac Saviour stole the ball from a hesitant Ghana defender, rounded up the goalkeeper and slotted into an empty net.
Striker Sikiru Alimi must have been disappointed with himself when he was released by a through ball in the closing moments of the first half before he was dispossessed on his way to goal.
