The Golden Eaglets appear to have put behind them the loss of an entire first team through the MRI age test as they beat Dante Academy 4-2 in a friendly with the coach of the opponents praising the national U17s.
Forty of 60 players failed to scale the age test and coach Fatai Amoo now has to work with 20 players less than three weeks to the U17 AFCON qualifiers in Benin.
“You must give kudos to the Golden Eaglets, very young boys and they did a good job, it’s a fine team,” saluted Dante Academy coach Bunmi Blair.
“My boys are big and physical, these are the kind of players they will face at the Nations Cup. So, if they could play against us, it is good.
“I have been to the qualifiers, the AFCON and the World Cup, so I know what to expect.”
