SCORENigeria has specially gathered that coach Fatai Amoo will name a final squad of 25 players for the U17 AFCON in Morocco with the bulk of the squad from the qualifiers retained.
The Golden Eaglets will kick off their U17 AFCON campaign on March 14 against Tanzania.
A top official has now informed SCORENigeria that despite extending a chance to hundreds of other hopefuls after the Eaglets resumed training camp in Abuja for the tournament in Morocco, Amoo has kept faith with the boys who earned the country the ticket to North Africa.
Officials have denied players on grade 5 from the MRI age test will now be considered, maintaining that only players who fall within grade 4 will make the trip to Morocco.
Amoo has also got his request granted to go with a bigger squad of 25 players to take in emergencies like Covid-19 infections and injuries.
It would be recalled that the Eaglets were decimated when three of the players including defender Victor Oduah contacted Coronavirus while at the qualifiers in Togo.
