After suffering a first-ever defeat, the Golden Eaglets today returned to winning ways with a 3-2 victory over a Kano selected side.
It has also emerged today that the team seriously depleted by failed MRI age test will open the defence of the WAFU B championship on May 16 against Burkina Faso.
Incidentally, Nigeria defeated Burkina Faso in the tournament final two years ago to win the sub-regional tournament, which also serves as qualifier for the U17 AFCON.
Niger and Togo are the other teams in Group B.

Nawa for Gusau and his co–horts. I’m not sure may be these people want Nigeria to succeed. It is very painful for we Nigerians that football is making us to be happy. The NFF Boss knows for so many months that Under 17 will be having a competition and they intentionally refused them to prepare on time. Before when Gusau was appointed as a football administrator I beat my chest and say good job, now the Eaglets suffered at last AFCON, won’t these present Eaglets do same. I don’t know why these politicians are putting round pegs in square holes.
