Former Nigeria U23 international Godwin Saviour is now a free agent after his Belgian club KSV Roeselare were finally refused a professional football license today.
Roeselare were first denied a license before they appealed the decision after Chinese owners pledged a bigger budget.
Saviour, who has enjoyed a decent season in the second division, still had a year left on his contract.
He can now move to another club without any compensation for Roeselare.
Another Nigeria star, Yusuf Lawal, has also been released from his contract after Belgian club Lokeren declared bankruptcy and have since merged with another club to feature in the amateur league.
