Sheyi Ojo has said he is disappointed his Scottish club Glasgow Rangers could not record a bigger win over FC Progress Niederkorn in a UEFA Europa League qualifier despite the many chances they created.
On Thursday, the Liverpool loanee scored Rangers second goal in the 2-0 win when he struck in the 54th minute.
“The main objective was to get a result and then keep us in a good aggregate ahead of the second leg.
“I feel that we’ve done that, but obviously we are disappointed because we could have scored more, but we are looking forward to the next game,” he said.
“We were one up at half time and the gaffer has told us that he wants us to go and get more goals.
“Luckily enough I was able to help the team with the second goal, but like I said we were disappointed to not get more goals.
“We’ve got to take the positives from the game and look forward to the second leg.”
On his goal, the youngster said it was well-executed and came from the training ground.
“We’ve been working a lot on short corners in training and (Steven) Davis has given me the ball and you know, the gaffer and everyone are always telling me to express myself when I get the ball and I was able to do that and luckily it went in,” he told Rangers TV.
“It was amazing. You can tell by my reaction and celebration that I am happy to help my team as much as I can.”
He added: “Obviously scoring in the first game and then again today, I’m just trying to help the team with goals and assists.
“We created so many chances, and we’d like to be a little bit more clinical as a team, but I think that will come as we’re still in pre-season.”
