The new scoring sensation in Belgium, Gift Orban, has said he hopes to raise his standards so that he will soon play in the Premier League, which is widely considered the best league in the world.

Orban, 20, smashed four goals past home team Zulte-Waregem in a Belgian league clash at the weekend.

The new Gent striker has now netted nine goals in eight games in all competitions.

However, he said he will have to do more to play in the Premier League.

“My level has to be even higher if I ever want to play in the Premier League. There is still a lot of work to be done,” he insisted.

He revealed that this was the first time in his pro career he would score that many number of goals in a single game.

“It is indeed the first time in my professional career. I had never even made a hat-trick before, but… it doesn’t mean much to me in the end,” he said.

One, two, three, four: it all seems so easy for the Nigerian.

“Left or right, I don’t care,” he said.

However, both feet are still firmly on the ground.

“The victory is very important”, he has an eye for the full picture- The Champions play-offs in sight.

Gent are now just a point behind Club Brugge to make the Top 4, which qualifies you to the playoffs, with five rounds of matches to the end of the regular season.

With nine goals already could this striker go on to finish as Goal King of Belgium?

“Don’t look at that. I play my matches and score my goals. You never know, that’s football,” he simply replied.
